For the third and final bachelor(ette) party, Alaa planned a 3-day weekend in Austin. We came home after work and took a road trip in a hoping van with lights and Alaa's mad DJ skills.
We arrived at the very elegant J.W. Marriott Austin Downtown and went up to get dressed - girls in one room and boys in another. After an alarming amount of time getting ready, we walked across the street to Second Bar + Kitchen. It was nice that it was close and yummy. However, the AC was out and it was September in Texas.
We spent Saturday at the lake and turned in quite early, but the next day, we had big appetites and Alaa knew a good bbq joint we needed to try - Franklin's. It appeared to be nothing special. A gravel lot with a few food trucks and park benches. The only place that had a line was Franklin's. The only one that even had customers was Franklin's. We waited over an hour in the strong Texas sun to order sausage, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, and coleslaw.
It came all on one tray and we attacked it. We didn't think we could do it, but we did it in just 10 minutes.
