After a lot of food and dessert and eating, Talal and I decided we needed to go on a bit of a diet to get back on track. We'll be eating healthy, light dinners before 8PM, and watching our portions.
We came back from Canada and were exhausted from our 2AM wake up call. We grabbed lunch with my parents (diet-approved Barnaby's salads) unpacked, showered, took naps, and watched a couple movies on TV. By the time we finally sat down, we were too exhausted to get out of the house and go to HEB.
Although our fridge was empty after our vacation, I managed to make a delicious sandwich with the items I could carve out of the fridge and pantry. Technically sandwiches don't work with our diet, so we decided to eat a half sandwich each. I made a ham and Swiss sandwich with a fried egg and a scrumptious pickle relish. Talal and I couldn't get enough, but alas, it's diet time.
Items in the pickle relish for safe keeping:
Capers
Cornichons
Golden Peppadew Peppers
Olive Oil
Red Pepper Flakes
Dried Thyme
Finely Grated Garlic
Anchovy Paste
A Splash of Red Wine Vinegar
