Karen bought a new house about 12 minutes from BMC and of course the next step is "discovering the hood." Karen's new mission is to find all the good places to eat in the area. This is something I completely agree with. I felt like I could "lend a hand" so KB, Staci and I went out for an early lunch. It took us 3 circles to find parking. It was pretty packed. Karen drove us; and the two of them treated me to lunch and 'ritas.
They got nachos and the tamales caught my eye. "Only available on Fridays and Saturdays?" Yes, please.
But they were out.. So, I settled on chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, served with a side of refried beans and rice pilaf. The sauce was slightly sour. The beans made my mouth water. The rice was perfectly salted. The chicken was juicy. The 'ritas were smooth, yet strong. Wow.. Although this place looks like nothing special once you first walk in, they definitely know what they're doing. They could use a redecorator, but the food.. I wouldn't change a thing.
