Just before Valentine's Day, we celebrated Galentine's Day with the girls. It was G'Nai's turn to plan and she did a great job. One of the many things that I love about Houston is that after 22 years, a new Houstonian can teach me new things. I always try to stay in a state of exploration. Sometimes, I get a little distracted, but always find my way back to wandering Houston's streets.
There's this new part of town behind Highland Village. It's a hidden gem - especially because you cannot physically see it from the streets. It's called the River Oaks District. You'll find all the obscenely expensive shops. You have Hermes, Dior, Tom Ford, Roberto Cavalli and the likes. Although the construction wasn't completely done, it was still glamorous, which frightens me for when it's finally done. We dined at the Tuck Room - where the food had large portions, but was still extraordinarily pricey. G'Nai claims that this restaurant is the closest thing to a posh Dallas restaurant. "Ok, thanks Diva."
Next, movie time. In Lauren's words, "Ticket for 1 to How to be single. Thanks for the most depressing email ever." The girl's night continued at iPic Theatre. It was an equally overpriced event. We sat in pods, reclined, were offered popcorn and fuzzy blankets.
