The Best Company

Updated: Jul 21, 2020

Mommy and I always say that we are each other's best company, especially when exploring new places. Restaurants together are no different. Mommy and I snuck away from the bustle of the city to the little place we call the Village.

Helen's was a little pricey, but it was a pleasant and unexpected spot. It's long and narrow, but that didn't stop them from maximizing on space and filling the space with brick walls and bottles of wine. Arriving at 5pm, it was much busier than we expected, but that could be due to the size of the place. We didn't go for dinner, just a glass of wine and a snack. Instead we ended up with buzzes and filled appetites.

We ordered the greek salad. Our waiter said it was enough to share and yes, he was correct. We got a dip trio - eggplant, red pepper hummus, and roe puree. Mommy's favorite was the red pepper one, but I found the fish one so bright and fresh. As our final item to accompany our fancy glasses of wine, we ordered something with a walnut pesto. Frankly, I can't remember, but I do know that the pesto is harder to recreate than you would expect.
