Today, I had a small group of people over. As I usually do when I have people coming over, I spent a few days building the menu and imagining what my beautiful small bites would look like. I decided on Mini Tomato Tatins, Ina's Goat Cheese and Zucchini Tart, Ina's Tarragon Shrimp Salad, my Lemon Jalapeño Turkey Meatballs, homemade deviled eggs, cheeses, and veggies. Since I had asked Saskya to bring dessert, I only made Giada's Lemon Ricotta Cookies. I intentionally left my workload light since the plan was to have everyone over around 3pm - think Elegant Sunday Funday.
Morning of, we pushed the gathering to 6PM so we could have the whole group. Everyone came in and was so excited to try my tiny creations. The biggest hit for everyone was the Lemon Ricotta Cookies. I mean, when was the last time you went to something and everyone finished the dessert? Although these were 'the flavor [Sako] was searching for,' I was thrilled with the results of the Goat Cheese and Zucchini Tart. It was as beautiful as Ina's, the crust was perfectly flaky and the zucchini slices looked so cute. Since I'm sure you'll agree, I'll leave the tart picture right here for you...
