Bon Anniversaire

Updated: Jul 21, 2020

Somehow two years flew by. I can't believe it's Talal and I's 2nd anniversary. Two years ago, we walked down the aisle and said, "I do."

I thought the perfect way to celebrate our special day was simply being together and spending quality time together. With the golf tournament date approaching, I was very busy at work. And with Talal's new promotion, he had been very busy, too.

In the afternoon, we spent time at Giacomo's Cibo e Vino. We shared a few snacks and a bottle of wine. Reminder to try and recreate the "pollo al tonno" (chicken rillettes Italian-style (chicken is slowly poached in extra virgin olive oil & white wine with onions, herbs & spices until meltingly tender and succulent, then shredded & preserved under more extra virgin olive oil), served with cornichons & grilled ciabatta).

We made it home in time to take a nap and get all dolled up for our dinner in the gloomy drizzly weather. I put on my red, ruffled party dress, a pair of heels and some bright lipstick. Talal surprised me with the restaurant choice - Maestro's Steakhouse. We ate a huge meal of oysters, bone marrow with toast, scallops and the dreamiest butter cake. The restaurant had a great ambiance and enormous portions. It was a great spot for dinner. We could hardly breathe after all we ate, but stuffed is the only way I know how I end every celebration.

It was nice to simply spend the day together. Every single day, I love Talal more and more. My heart is so full and I'm so incredibly lucky to have him.
